Source: NUIT AFRICAINE (AFRICAN NIGHT) For the first time in the history of mankind, the best of African music relocates from YouTube to invests in the Parisian 90000-Seat Stade de France on June 11, 2011. The event will mobilize and more than 150 artists, musicians and dancers on stage for a single concert. All rhythms and colors of the African musical creativity will be honored and Africa will come together in Paris to celebrate African culture. Mory Kante Mory Kante was born in 1950 in Guinea as heir to the tradition of the griots. He followwd the teachings, going to French school and learned to play the balafon, the emblematic instrument of Kante. At 15, he was sent to Bamako with his aunt, griot, singer of the Ensemble Instrumental National du Mali. In 1971, he joined the group Rail Band as a guitarist and a balafon player until 1973 when he replaced Salif Keita at the microphone. While In Bamako, he discovered the Kora. In 1978 he moved to Abidjan and plays Climbier, famous club in Abidjan. The director of the American label Ebony Records produced his first album "Courougnégné" in 1981. He then arrived in France in 1984. The concerts he gave there with his Kora were electrified with critical acclaim until today.
